Having a park nearby can make a real difference to everyday life, particularly for families and children. These shared spaces give children room to play outdoors, provide opportunities for young people to take part in sports and offer neighbours a place to meet and spend time together.
Five new parks opened in Etimesgut on 11 October 2026, bringing new opportunities for outdoor activities to the district. One of them, Filenin Sultanları Park in the Yeşilova neighbourhood, takes its name from Türkiye’s national women’s volleyball team.
A New Space for Sport and Outdoor Activities
Filenin Sultanları Park features a volleyball court, a walking path and children’s play areas. It also includes a designated area for pets, offering facilities for different needs within the neighbourhood.
One of the park’s key features is its appeal to people of different ages. While children can enjoy the play areas, young people have space to play volleyball and take part in physical activities. Other residents can use the park as a place to walk, relax and enjoy some time outdoors.
The park’s name carries its own significance. By honouring Türkiye’s national women’s volleyball team, it brings the achievements of the country’s athletes into everyday community life and highlights the role sport can play beyond professional competitions.
A Valuable Addition to Neighbourhood Life
Parks provide a welcome break from the pace of city life. They give children room to play, offer residents places to relax and create opportunities for neighbours to connect. For this reason, the value of a new park lies not only in its opening, but also in how well it serves the people who use it over time.
The contribution of the five newly opened parks to life in Etimesgut will become clearer as residents begin to use them regularly. With its combination of sports and recreational facilities, Filenin Sultanları Park offers the Yeşilova neighbourhood a new place to meet, stay active and spend time outdoors.
