According to information shared by Eyüpsultan Municipality, renovation work was completed in 16 parks during 2026. The works included the renewal of playground equipment and safety surfaces, maintenance of lighting systems and improvements to the general layout of the parks.
The renovated locations include Fırat Street Park, Düğmeciler Recreation Area, Aylin Street Park, Adnan Menderes Park, Cevahir Street Park, Emniyettepe District Park and Rami Park.
From Playgrounds to Sports Areas
The work goes beyond the maintenance of green spaces. Worn playground equipment and rubber safety surfaces are being replaced, while sports areas and walking sections in several parks are also being improved.
Lighting systems and surrounding areas are being maintained as part of the work, helping keep the parks suitable for use at different times of the day. The improvements provide neighbourhoods with renewed spaces where children can play, residents can exercise and people can simply take a break outdoors.
58 Parks Renovated in Recent Years
According to figures shared by the municipality, 58 parks have been renovated and four new parks have been opened in Eyüpsultan since the current administration took office.
In a densely developed city such as Istanbul, parks are an important part of everyday life at neighbourhood level. Regular maintenance, updated playgrounds and sports facilities can make a direct difference to how these public spaces are used.
